Overview

Unique knowledge of both hardware and software with a B.S. in Computer Engineering and an M.S. in Information and Computer Science; plus completed three-years of coursework as a Ph.D. student in Communication and Information Sciences. Have honed my self-directed learning skills and can quickly become proficient in new technologies and their application. Have a special competency in human –computer interaction (HCI).

Created online content and helped organize the class website using HTML and WebCT (online course management tool - https://webct.hawaii.edu). Used Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft FrontPage, Telnet & FTP programs to generate online content and course Websites

Installed digital video mixing system and assisted professor in creating online video lectures using professional video mixers and Real Producer to encode for Internet viewing

Hired between junior and senior year as interim Webmaster. During my senior year, was retained as full time corporate Webmaster while carrying a normal class load. As a member of the Corporate Communications Group, significantly upgraded the Website and worked directly with senior level public relations executives and line vice-presidents to add time-critical news and financial releases

Tools: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft FrontPage, Telnet & FTP programs, and Webtrends (web log analysis). Also added complex features using hard-coded HTML and Perl scripts

Used Flash to create a marketing mini-CD-ROM of the Annual Report and product brochures that were previously all hard copies. The digital version added a powerful corporate video while reducing total cost from $15.00 to $1.50 per recipient of this critical public relations material. Presented the CD-ROM to key executives at a corporate meeting in Littleton, CO

Installed new Cobalt web servers and modified IP backbone diagrams

Used Interwoven, a content-management tool, to create templates and manage website

Worked as a Call Processing Engineer, converting out-dated state chart diagrams to updated diagrams in TAU (UNIX state chart tool). Converted diagrams that will be implemented into GSM’s current customer releases. Conversions performed in C. Also worked with Perl to modify / update transition notes
